What do we do in this writing practice?

One of the things I love most about this practice is this: it is NOT about the writing. We are not trying to be good writers; we are trying to write our truth.

We write quickly and imperfectly, keeping pen to page, so we can listen deeply to ourselves.

We relax and listen to the creative muse that wants to move through us.

We drop in to our authentic selves and embrace – without judgment - what comes through our pens.

We create a sacred brew as we write together and share; each person’s voice is an important ingredient in the brew.

We hold ourselves and each other tenderly and give thanks to each person after they have read.  There is no feedback other than a warm thank you.

So what do we do in this practice? We breathe, we listen to poetry, we listen to ourselves, we put pen to paper, we tell our truth, we read our writing, we witness others and say thank you, we do it again.

We get to be 100% human. It’s not always pretty; it’s always beautiful.
